Pianist and educator, Leslie Wyber is a graduate of the University of Toronto (B.Ed.), University of Victoria (B. Mus.) and the University of British Columbia (M.Mus. D.M.A.) She was the winner of the Victoria Medal (UVic, 1987) for the highest graduating average in the Faculty of Fine Arts and as a Rotary Graduate Scholar she studied at the Hochshule der Kunste in Berlin (1987-1988).

Leslie has been a member of the piano faculty at the University of Regina and Wilfrid Laurier University. She founded the Guelph School of Music in 1997 and was its artistic director for ten years.

As a soloist and chamber musician, Leslie has been praised for her clarity, intensity, dynamism and acuity. Currently she is a member of the Surround Sound Trio, with Christine McLean and Marion McDougall.

A passionate and creative advocate for music-making in the community and public schools, Leslie was co-creator of the Sonic Playground (Roy Thomson Hall, 2002; Open Ears Festival, Kitchener 2001; Wilfrid Laurier Outreach Programme, 2003) and the Cyclofoozelaphone (Waterloo Regional Children’s Museum, 2005). Leslie is the conductor of the Georgian Bay Children’s Choir (GBCC) and a member of The Ontario Registered Music Teachers' Association (ORMTA).

Leslie has been living, performing and teaching in Owen Sound since 2008.
